Rev. McArthur Baker, Sr. 75 of Apex, NC passed Wednesday, January 10, 2018. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Monday, January 15, 2018 at Greater Felton Grove Missionary Baptist Church located on 8109 Stephenson Rd Apex, NC.
Viewing will be held Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 12:00 pm -5:00 PM at Albright Funeral Home
Visitation held from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM on the day of the service at Greater Felton Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
A Time To Be Born: Rev. McArthur Baker was born to the late Matthew and Rena Baker on July 6, 1942 in Chatham County, NC. He was the eighteenth son of the Baker family.
A Time To Build Up: In 1962 McArthur graduated from Apex Consolidated High School. Soon after graduation he joined Faith Healing Center and was ordained as a Deacon. Later he joined Felton Grove Baptist Church. He did his trial sermon and became an ordained minister. During his Christian journey McArthur worked at Cooper Tools in Apex, NC for 22 years as a Warehouse Supervisor. He later worked with the Department of Transportation in Hillsborough, NC, where he later retired. McArthur loved fishing, riding his lawnmower, doing yard work and helping others. He was a devoted husband and father.
A Time To Die: “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born and a time to die; A time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;” Ecclesiastes 3: 1-4 McArthur departed this life into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father Matthew Baker, mother, Rena Wardsworth Baker and step-daughter Catherine Williams (Lathan).
A Time To Embrace: Embracing and cherishing his precious memory are two sons McArthur Baker, Jr. (Christy) of Raleigh, NC and Christopher Brian Baker (Kendra) of Willow Springs, NC; one brother Alex Baker (Dorothy) of Fuquay-Varina, NC; 3 sisters Mary Hatley of Chatham County, NC; Catherine Burnett of Chapel Hill, NC; and Ernestine Stone of Pittsboro, NC; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
