May God comfort Robert King's family with knowledge of the deep legacy Robert left the entire community. He was an administrator and my dear friend at FVHS. He was a mentor to each one of us in the social studies department. Robert encouraged us, laughed with us, and sometimes advised all of us. He never forgot what it was like to be in the classroom and he treated each one of us with the utmost respect. We knew he cared not only about the students, but about us as well. When we were fed up with educational bureaucracy, he would wink and say. . . "This too shall pass", and we would feel better. Robert was a beacon to students and always saw the best in each individual. He is now among the angels encouraging us to be our best.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Robert was such a positive influence on both of our girls. He was such a good friend of mine while I taught at Lincoln Heights and Holly Springs Elementary. After we both retired we'd still enjoy catching up as to what had been happening in our lives. Keep those kids in line in HEAVEN!

Please accept our sincere condolences. I had the opportunity to meet Mr King at a Salamanders game this past summer with the community work he was doing with the Holly Springs Martin Luther King Committee. The memories shared on this memorial further instills in us the positive impact he had on this community and all he worked with. May these memories and his legacy bring comfort during this difficult time.

I am one of Mr. Kings' students that had him for 9th grade ELP. The first day I walked through his door I was scared too death. He was very stern but with that he had a heart of gold. He made his students knew that education was very important and would pull me to they side to let me know that he saw potential in me and that is something I never forgot. I also had the privilege of Mr. King coming to my church and teaching Sunday and vacation bible school. He will be sorely missed. Rest in heavenly peace Mr. Robert King.

I am another of the FVHS teachers whose life was blessed and enriched by knowing Robert King. Everyone has their own "Mr. King" story. I still tell them to my friends, and quote him often. I especially enjoyed the years when his office was next to my classroom. I sought his advice many times, and enjoyed the times we just talked and laughed. Everyone who has commented here has highlighted the essence of Robert. "Robert had no enemies" says it all. He was the best advocate that any FVHS student ever had. His lasting legacy will be his relationship with the students. I think the occasion that sums it up best happened on a Senior Day, 2013 or 2014. A group of Senior men arrive in t-shirts made especially for the day, honoring Robert. The backs of the shirts were printed with a large picture of what must have been Robert's high school picture. Under the image was printed, THE LEGEND. Truer words were never spoken. They loved him. My thanks to the King family for sharing him with all of us. A great man will be missed by all with whom he worked at the school and in the community. May God's love comfort you all. Sally Phillips

Mr. King's family and friends, I am sadden by the news of Mr. King's passing. He was truly an amazing role model to all education professionals. I had the pleasure of working with him for one semester (my first semester at FVHS). In this short time, he had a great impact on me. Every time he would come visit the school or see me outside of the school, he would address me by name and ask me about my life. Mr. King will be missed greatly in the FVHS community. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.

Anne, I was so shocked when you told me of Robert's passing and I am so very sorry for your loss. Robert was such a comical character and I loved the way he used to joke with me. But I went with you to his church once and saw a serious and spiritual side of him. Please know that you all are in my prayers and I know that GOD will grant you all with the strength you'll need as you celebrate Robert's legacy. May GOD continue to bless you, your family (including Robert's girlfriend), and Robert's friends. May the Lord continue to walk with you.
