Jimmy L. Baker passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Jimmy was born on the 12th of June, 1942, in Bear Grass, North Carolina the eighth of nine children to Sarah Manning Baker and Columbus Baker. Jimmy worked 30 years as mobile mechanic for the Ford Tractor Co., Caldwell Tractor and Equipment Inc. of Fairfield NJ. Jimmy retired, moved back and lived in North Carolina for nearly 20 yrs. Jimmy a church member of the Full Gospel Church of Deliverance, Elizabethtown, North Carolina: Pastor Apostle Joyce and Alexander Lawrence.
Jimmy was predeceased in 2014 by his wife of 20+ yrs, Mary C., his daughter Corelia, in 2005; first wife Lucille Ward in 2012; grandson Anthony M. Robinson in 1995 and by four of his eight siblings; sisters Fannie Mae and Eva Mae, and brothers William aka “Bill” & C.B.
He is survived by his children Jason Baker, (Mary) (Fort Wayne, Indiana); Karla Baker (Edison, New Jersey); three brothers, Mack Columbus aka “MC”, (Bessie) (Morrisville, North Carolina); Joe Henry (Morrisville, North Carolina); Reverend John Allen aka “Jack”, (Margaret) (Morrisville, North Carolina); sister Betty Lou Green, (Freddie) (Durham, North Carolina); grandchildren Craig T. Robinson, Jr. (Paterson, New Jersey); Jonathan, (Pricilla) and Solomon Baker (Fort Wayne, Indiana); Venus Moore Baker (Dublin, North Carolina); great grandchildren Seriyah D. Robinson (Paterson, New Jersey); Zi’Mere Isaiah Davis (Dublin, North Carolina).
