Linda C (Snipes) Kelley

Linda Snipes Kelley, the oldest daughter of the late Murphy Snipes and Fannie Lunsford Snipes, was born on January 9,1956. She transitioned on June 25, 2024 at the age of 68.

She graduated from Northwood High School located in Pittsboro NC as part of the class of 1974. She later attended school to pursue her career in culinary arts and became a chef for the Athletic Department at the University of NC Chapel Hill for many years. Linda enjoyed cooking and having family gatherings to watch others eat and enjoy her good southern cooking.

Linda in her younger days enjoyed playing softball for the Haw River Baptist Church Softball team.She also enjoyed fishing at the coast and traveling.

Linda was married to her highschool sweetheart Barry A. Kelley for 49 years. To this union she was blessed with four children. She was a firm but loving mother that worked hard to provide for her family. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.

Linda is survived by her husband Barry Kelley, two daughters, Michelle Hunter (Ronnie) of Apex,NC, Tashuia Williams (Nicholas) of Siler City,NC, two sons Donelle Kelley (Vermeka) of Pittsboro,NC,James Kelley(Tasha) of Mebane,NC; Goddaughter LaTanya Clemons Davis of Chapel Hill,NC; One Sister Sharon Snipes of Durham,NC and one brother Randy Snipes of Durham,NC,7 grandchildren: Meriah,Jamonie,Desmond, Maya Jai, Sahmajj, Luke, Laine; one great granddaughter Acacia and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday, June 29 at 1:30pm at Albright Funeral Home Chapel, family visitation will be 30 minutes prior from 1pm-1:30pm.  Public viewing will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 1pm - 4pm at the funeral home.
