Tan’s Journey
Tandra Antoinette Graves (“Tan, Tannie Mae”) was born on May 5,1987 to the late Darlene Graves and Leon Graves. On Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the age of 37, God decided it was time for her to come home.
Tan was reared in Chatham County Schools and Chapel-Hill Carrboro-City Schools. She graduated from Chapel Hill High School, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. After graduation, she continued her education at North Carolina Agricultural & State University, Greensboro, North Carolina where she studied Journalism & Mass Communications. Tan loved spending time with her family & friends. She was an artist at beauty enhancements for herself and others. She was so talented that she could make anyone look good! She loved to shop and was always looking for the next great sale. She was a great jokester, loved to laugh and was also an avid reader.
Tan was a long-time employee of the State of North Carolina working at Murdoch – Central Regional Hospital. She also worked at Sam’s Club for 10 years.
Tan was preceded in death by her loving mother, Darlene Graves, and her son, Khyser Peaire.
Left to cherish her loving memories are her sister, Detra Lassiter & her niece, Dalexis Lassiter, both of Raleigh, NC; special friend, Ronnie Carr, Henderson, NC; aunt, Janie Wilson of Durham, NC. She also leaves behind several long-time friends, Braxton Cloutier, Rhode Island; Mia Waters, Atlanta, GA; and Jessie Cheek, Henderson, NC. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives, family and friends.
A memorial service will be Friday, October 4, 2024 at 1pm in the Albright Funeral Chapel.
